James Cain

James Cain brings to the Board of ISPT more than 25 years experience as an executive in property and major capital works projects in both the public and private sectors. James worked in senior executive roles with Lend Lease for more than 12 years and was Executive Director of Major Projects Victoria, the state government’s major capital works delivery agency, between 2001 and 2006. James founded his own commercial, property and development advisory business, M21 Advisory serving the government and corporate sectors nine years ago and has since pursued these interests along with various board positions.

James has been Deputy Chair of the Port of Melbourne Corporation since 2010 and is a member of the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure and Transport’s Major Infrastructure Investments Board. He has previously served on the Board of Victorian Rail Track and as Chair of the Port of Hastings.

Rosemary Hartnett has more than 25 years experience in the Australian property sector and extensive senior management experience in property finance. Rosemary is an Independent Director of Aconex, an ASX listed online collaboration platform for construction, infrastructure, energy and resources projects worldwide and Wallara Australia, a community based provider of services for people living with a disability.

Rosemary was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Housing Choices Australia, one of the country’s leading registered housing associations. She has worked as a senior property finance executive and a fund manager for trading and investment banks, including Macquarie Bank, ANZ and NAB, and is a qualified property valuer.

Susan Bitter has over 25 years experience in senior management and professional roles and has experience in strategic planning, corporate governance, finance and risk management.

Susan was previously the Chief Operating Officer of law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Susan has been a Board Member of WorkSafe and Chair of their Audit and Risk Management Committee, a Director of VicSuper, a Director of ESSS and a partner of Arthur Andersen.

Mark Delaney was appointed Chief Investment Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AustralianSuper in July 2006 after the Australian Retirement Fund and Superannuation Trust of Australia (STA) merger. Mark has the formidable responsibility of investing more than $90 billion in members’ retirement savings.

With more than 30 years experience in financial markets, Mark has previously held the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Head of Investments at STA. He has also held senior positions with AXA and the Federal Treasury and is a member of the Industry Funds Management Investor Advisory Board.

Brian Daley is a Director of AustralianSuper and is currently the Capital Stewardship Officer at the ACTU. He has worked in the area of industry super for almost 30 years, having been involved in the establishment and governance of several industry funds including Australian Retirement Fund, HESTA and Hostplus. Brian is also a member of the Council of Industry Super Australia.

Frank O’Grady is a Director of Cbus and a member of the Cbus Audit & Risk Committee. Currently Frank is the Assistant National Secretary of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) Construction & General Division – Australia’s largest construction union.

Prior to becoming the Assistant National Secretary in 2010, Frank was an organiser and Vice President for the Victorian Branch of the CFMEU Construction & General Division. In 2014, Frank was appointed a Director of MATES in Construction, a community development organisation aimed at reducing suicide and improving mental health and wellbeing within the Australian Construction industry.

Klaus Zimmermann is a Director of HESTA and has more than 30 years experience in senior executive roles and non-executive board memberships, including as Chair. Klaus is a non-executive director of the Central Adelaide and Hills Medicare Local as well as an aged care consultant and advisor.

Previously, he was past National President and Chair of the Aged and Community Services Australia, past National President of the National Institute of Accountants and a former Member of the Federal Government’s Financial Reporting Council.

Prior to retiring in 2010, David was the Chief Operating Officer International Business at Crown Limited and the Chief Financial Officer at Tabcorp Holdings Limited. David has also held senior positions at Elders Resources NZFP Limited and Coopers and Lybrand Chartered Accountants.

She was previously the Chief Executive Officer and a Director of AGEST Super.

John Sutton has more than 30 years experience in the construction industry and as a superannuation trustee. He was formerly an ISPT Director appointed by Cbus from 1995 to 2011. From 1994 to 2010, John was a Director of Cbus and a member of the Cbus Investment Committee as well as a Director of the ACIRT Redundancy Fund.

John has held the positions of National Secretary of the CFMEU, Vice President of the ACTU and Associate Commissioner of the Productivity Commission. He also teaches at the University of New South Wales School of Management.
