Work is now underway on the new, 32 storey vertical campus in Victoria University’s City West Precinct, in Melbourne’s CBD. ISPT is developing the 24,000 sqm campus in partnership with Victoria University, who have leased back the tower under a 30 year agreement.
An official Smoking Ceremony and sod-turn marked the start of works, which are due for completion late 2021.
ISPT’s General Manager, Development Services, Chris McCluskey said the project reflects ISPT’s strategic intent to seek development partnerships.
“Victoria University Tower represents an important milestone in our participation in the education sector and we look forward to working collaboratively with VU on our shared commitment to create a world class education precinct”.
“The conservation, integration and adaptive re-use of the heritage buildings provides some exciting design challenges that will add to the high quality built form of the project.”
The development of the tower for Victoria University will consolidate its city campuses into one vibrant and accessible knowledge precinct, revitalising this part of the Melbourne CBD.
